DID YOU KNOW... 🗣 You don't have to be 18 to make a claim for personal injury. Minors (anyone under 18) can have what we term a 'litigation friend' - an adult over 18 - to help them through the process. It's worth knowing however, that in most cases, any compensation awarded will usually be either held by the court, in a victim's Trust Fund or ISA until they turn 18. On rare occasions, a judge will allow a parent or carer to take control of the money, if this means the young person will be able to benefit from it to enhance their life - for example if work needs to be done on a home to allow a child easier access or an adapted car needs to be purchased.
